What is Rethink Drink?

Rethink Drink is a comprehensive alcohol reduction coaching programme based on The Sinclair Method (TSM), designed to support anyone struggling to manage their alcohol consumption, regardless of the level.

We offer a range of programmes tailored to your needs, from basic guidance to one-on-one personalised coaching, which can include family involvement, consultations with a private doctor, prescriptions, and a roadmap to success.

All designed to help you regain control over your alcohol consumption.Central to our approach is The Sinclair Method, a scientifically proven method with a 78% success rate in clinical trials. Developed over 35 years ago, it has successfully helped hundreds of thousands of people worldwide recover from alcohol dependency.

Unlike traditional approaches that rely on willpower, we treat alcohol dependency as a progressive neurological condition, addressing the underlying brain chemistry that drives addiction.

Who are Rethink Drink?

Rethink Drink is a revolutionary initiative founded by Matt Brindley and Bruce Rose, both of whom are deeply committed to helping individuals overcome alcohol dependency and supporting their families through the recovery process.

Matt personally battled alcohol dependency for over 15 years before successfully overcoming it using The Sinclair Method (TSM), a scientifically proven treatment that uses medication and therapy to gradually reduce the desire for alcohol.

Bruce, having lost his father to alcohol dependency and having fought a decade-long battle with drug addiction, has spent years managing alcohol and drug rehabilitation centres and working exclusively with clients using TSM.

Together, Matt and Bruce created Rethink Drink to offer a new approach to alcohol recovery in the United Kingdom. Their mission is to provide a clear, straightforward, and effective path to recovery, leveraging their personal experiences and expertise in TSM to help others overcome alcohol dependency.

Who is Rethink Drink For?

Rethink Drink is for anyone who recognises they have a problem with alcohol.

Whether it's daily drinking, binge drinking, or simply having cravings for alcohol. It's for those who want to drink less, or not at all, and most importantly, for those who want to change their relationship with alcohol.

The Sinclair Method (TSM) forms the core of our approach because it addresses the neurological aspects of alcohol dependency that often make it so difficult to change drinking habits through willpower alone.

Traditional approaches often treat alcohol dependency as a moral failing or a lack of self-control, but Rethink Drink recognises it as a progressive neurological condition.

This means it's not just about wanting to change; it's about retraining your brain to reduce the desire for alcohol over time.

So, Rethink Drink is for anyone who is looking for a scientifically grounded, compassionate approach to changing their relationship with alcohol, one that doesn't rely solely on willpower but instead addresses the underlying neurological causes of alcohol dependency.

Who is Rethink Drink NOT for?

  1. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant soon.

  2. Anyone taking opiate-based pain relief, as naltrexone blocks the opioid receptors in the brain and will negate the effects of medications like codeine or morphine.

  1. Anyone using recreational drugs like heroin or cocaine, as naltrexone can cause withdrawal symptoms.

  2. Anyone successfully maintaining abstinence using another method and currently alcohol-free.

This does not include those who are alcohol-free but struggling to maintain their sobriety with cravings or thoughts of drinking and close to relapse.

  1. Those looking for instant results or planning to quit 'cold turkey.' Our programme requires drinking alongside the medication while making habitual and lifestyle changes for long-term results.

  2. Anyone not committed to changing for themselves. Our programme requires a genuine desire to change your relationship with alcohol.

Rethink Drink is designed for those who want to change their relationship with alcohol and are prepared to commit to a programme which addresses the neurological aspects of alcohol dependency.

What is The Sinclair Method?

The Sinclair Method (TSM) is a scientifically proven treatment for alcohol addiction that uses a medication called Naltrexone to gradually reduce the desire for alcohol.

Specifically, TSM utilises a medication called Naltrexone to regulate the endorphin 'rush' which alcohol triggers in the brain; which is what people actually become addicted to, not the alcohol itself.

Over time, this re-wires neurological pathways in the brain - retraining the brain to not associate alcohol with pleasure or reward, which leads to a significant reduction in drinking or complete sobriety for many.

Can I Drink Alcohol on the Programme?

Yes, in fact, drinking is a necessary part of the programme. Rethink Drink requires 100% compliance with taking Naltrexone before drinking in order to rewire the brain's associations with alcohol.

This approach helps to prevent the 'Alcohol Deprivation Effect,' which triggers cravings & is the number one reason for relapse.

Over time, as the brain's association to alcohol changes, the desire for alcohol and overall consumption decreases significantly.

How Long is the Programme?

The length of the programme depends on the level of support you feel you need.

We offer three main programmes - Each programme is designed to meet you where you are at in your journey to change your relationship with alcohol:

Launch Programme (3 Months)

Launch is designed for those who need a shorter period of guided support to get started on their journey. It includes regular contact with coaches to help you stay on track and make the necessary changes in your life.

If at the end of the 3-month programme you feel that you need additional support and guidance, there are options to continue with us. Whether you feel you need the ongoing support of a community or more one-on-one coaching, we can help tailor a follow-on plan to your specific needs.

Ascend Programme (12 Months)

Our Group Coaching programme provides guided support for 6 months, with ongoing support as part of an exclusive online community for 12 months (in total), where you can seek and share support with others who are on a similar journey.

This exclusive community is a safe and supportive space where you can ask questions, share your experiences, and connect with others who understand what you are going through... There are two group coaching calls every week as well as additional tools and resources.

Summit Programme (12 Months)

Our personalised 1-2-1 coaching programme provides a longer period of guided support, includes direct contact with coaches, as well as additional resources, accountability and optional access to our exclusive online community.

This programme is designed for those who feel they need a discreet, comprehensive and flexible level of support to make lasting change, or have difficult circumstances which require extra support & understanding.

Programmes involve taking Naltrexone before drinking and working to change your habits, triggers and lifestyle alongside the medication. The goal of our programmes is to help you regain control over your alcohol consumption and, ultimately, your life.

The length of the programme you choose will depend on your personal needs and circumstances.

What's Not Included?

Our programmes include comprehensive support, coaching, resources, and a consultation with a private doctor who is a specialist in addiction.

Our doctor will issue a prescription for Naltrexone, a crucial component of Rethink Drink's programme; however, we are unable to cover the cost of the medication itself.

The cost is £83 for a 28-tablet supply, which includes delivery within the UK.

Is the Programme Discreet?

Yes, the programme is designed to be as discreet as you want it to be.

It is entirely up to you who you choose to share your journey with, including your GP.

All of our coaching sessions, whether one-on-one or in a group, are conducted with the utmost confidentiality; within the group coaching calls, there is an option to remain anonymous if you prefer.

Additionally, any personal information you share with us during your time in the programme will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the Rethink Drink team without your explicit permission.

How much does the programme cost?

We believe in transparency in all aspects of our work, including pricing, so that you can make an informed decision.

Our current programme prices are as follows:

£499 for the Launch Programme

£999 for Ascend (group) Coaching

£1,999 for Summit (1-2-1) Coaching

The additional cost of medication (Naltrexone) is £83 for a 28-tablet supply, including next-day delivery. This cost is payable to the pharmacy directly, and not included within your Rethink Drink coaching programme.

(Please note: The medication is only taken when consuming alcohol)

We may run special offers on one or more of these programmes from time to time, and we reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any time.

Further details about what each programme includes can be found on our Plans & Pricing page.

What Results Can I Expect?

The results of the Rethink Drink programmes vary from person to person, as each person's journey with alcohol is unique.

Our programmes are designed to help you regain control over your alcohol consumption, which for many people results in a significant reduction in the amount of alcohol they consume, or even complete abstinence.

However, the goal and the journey is different for everyone. Some want to drink socially again without over-consuming, and ending up in a binge, while others decide that abstinence is the best choice for them.

The key is that you will be in control and able to make that decision for yourself.

It's important to note that success on this programme is not defined by complete abstinence, unless that is your personal goal.

Success is defined by regaining control over alcohol and its impact on your life.

Changing your relationship with alcohol is a journey, and it may take time. However, with commitment and the right support, it is absolutely possible to achieve lasting change.
